How's your adulting going?

Do you feel... .
free?
annoyed?
like you want your blankie?

At the show, you are invited to anonymously submit a response to the question

When did you feel ADULT?

Inspired by your stories, the critically-acclaimed Tongue & Groove ensemble spontaneously performs a montage of scenes & monologues, from hilarious to heartbreaking.

"Will explode your expectations of what improv can be!”  Phawker

"Improv or not... . this is great theatre, acted with soul-baring sincerity, intelligence, and humor. GO SEE THIS!"Phila City Paper

"... beautiful scenes of sincerity and compassion and also ridiculously hilarious scenes.” DCMetro Theater Arts

Come tell us when you felt Adult!
The freedom, the fun, the burden.

Need some inspiration?

‘When I bought furniture I didn't need to assemble.’
‘At my Bar Mitzvah.’
‘When I took my Dad's keys away.’
‘When I actually remembered to change my oil.’
'I left my friends at the club and went home for a good night's sleep."
‘Never.’

Here’s what happens at a typical T&G show:
At the top of the performance, the audience is given an index card, a pen, and a provocative prompt, such as ‘share a secret you keep,’ ‘what do you want to do before you die,’ or ‘who are you?’ This year the question is 'when did you feel Adult?' Encouraged to honestly share their true thoughts and feelings, the audience anonymously submits their responses, which are randomly drawn by the actors and read aloud. The ensemble then spontaneously performs a montage of funny and touching scenes and monologues inspired by their audience-collaborators’ submissions, exploring the experiences that connect us all.

All performances are anchored by live improvised music!
